Becca: I arrive at the Holiday Inn in the late afternoon and decide to freshen up by way of a shower before I head on over to dad’s. Then I comb through emails and find my next subject for “No Love Lost” - an art historian and expert on famed surrealist, Felix Nussbaum, who is known for his work documenting the horrors of Jewish persecution preceding and during the Holocaust. Her own family history is intertwined with his. It’s fascinating.
If I’m being unkind, I’d say I’m procrastinating but the more gracious part of my brain is telling me that the self-care will prove useful in keeping my cool for the upcoming family reunion. The Sybil cynic in me is questioning if Syl or the Gods didn’t plan this derailment to get me down here to take part, but ultimately I’m the one who made the decision to come down. I put these thoughts to the side, for now.
